S4 PLUS Program and IB Diploma Program IBDP Y1 Admissions Policy

For students who are interested in taking the IB Diploma Program (IBDP) at Glee Path, it is highly recommended that they apply for a place in our S4 PLUS (Progressive Learning and Understanding for Students) Program as preparation for the demands of the IB Diploma Program. The S4 PLUS Program is an innovative program that enables students to make an informed choice regarding their S5 and S6 curricular pathways, be it the final two years of the HKDSE curriculum or the Y1 and Y2 of the IBDP curriculum. 

 

For Admissions to the S4 PLUS (Progressive Learning and Understanding for Students) Program

Admissions Criteria

  • Completion of S3 in Delia Memorial School (Glee Path) or its equivalent (e.g., 9th Grade or Year 9) in other Hong Kong schools and overseas

  • Strong English language proficiency

  • Consistently good or improving academic record

  • Active involvement in extracurricular activities

  • Awareness of local and global issues

  • Evidence of commitment to the Glee Path Core Value: “Come to Learn. Go to Serve.”

  • Signs of possession of any of the IB Learner Profile attributes: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, and Reflective

 

Admissions Process

  • Interested applicants and family members should attend any of the scheduled S4 PLUS Program Information Evenings announced on the school website.

  • Interested applicants and family members can request for an S4 PLUS Program Application Form in person from the school’s General Office or download it from the school website.

  • Once filled, the S4 PLUS Program Application Form and other required documents, can be submitted to the General Office by mid-May before the anticipated S4 entry.

  • Applicants and at least one parent or guardian will be invited to an Individual Interview with an Administrator of the school sometime in June.

  • A Letter of Acceptance will be made available for collection by successful applicants at the General Office beginning in early July.

 

For Admissions to IB Diploma Program Year 1 (IBDP Y1)

Admissions Criteria

  • Completion of S4 in Delia Memorial School (Glee Path) or its equivalent (e.g., 10th Grade or Year 10) in other Hong Kong schools and overseas

  • Strong English language proficiency as it is necessary in English-medium IBDP classes

  • Promising performance in the S4 Evaluative Assessment of English and Mathematics and Individual Interview (both of which will be taken after the submission of the IBDP Application Form)

  • Good academic record that shows preparedness to handle a rigorous academic program

  • Active involvement in extracurricular activities for a well-rounded education

  • Promising potential in international-mindedness through an ability to articulate and discuss matters of local, regional, and global importance

  • Evidence of commitment to the Glee Path Mission, Vision, Ethos, and Values

  • Demonstrated possession of any of the IB Learner Profile attributes: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, and Reflective

 

Admissions Process

  • Interested applicants and family members should attend any of the scheduled IB Information Evenings announced on the school website. 

  • Interested applicants and family members can request for an IBDP Application Form in person from the school’s General Office or download it from the school website.

  • Once filled, the IBDP Application Form and other required documents, can be submitted to the General Office beginning in March of the year before the anticipated IBDP Year 1 entry.

  • Shortlisted applicants will then be scheduled for the S4 Evaluative Assessment of English and Mathematics as well as an Individual Interview.

  • A Letter of Acceptance will be made available for collection by successful applicants at the General Office.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Original passport and HKID card

  • Original (or copies of) report cards from the two most recent academic years

  • Original (or copies of) certificates, prizes, awards, letters of recommendations, and other evidence of accomplishments and involvement in academic interests, extracurricular activities, internal/external competitions, and independent pursuits

  • Original (or copies of) significant learning experiences, including projects, assessments, or tasks

  • Others as required
