Chemistry
At GP, the Chemistry curriculum is designed to align with the objectives of the Hong Kong Education Bureau (HKEDB) senior form Chemistry curriculum. Our program emphasizes equipping students with a strong foundation in chemical knowledge, practical skills, and a deeper understanding of the role of Chemistry in daily life, technological advancements, and global sustainability. Through learning Chemistry, students develop scientific literacy, critical thinking, and a sense of responsibility toward environmental and societal challenges.
We place great emphasis on scientific investigation, encouraging students to explore the nature of science through experiments, data analysis, and hands-on problem-solving. By engaging in investigative activities, students not only enhance their process skills, such as observation, hypothesis formulation, and evidence-based reasoning, but also develop creativity, curiosity, and teamwork.
In our Chemistry lessons, students explore core topics such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, reaction kinetics, and organic Chemistry. They also learn to analyze real-world issues, such as pollution, energy resources, and sustainable development, through a chemical lens.
Our goal is to cultivate scientifically informed individuals who are prepared for future STEM-related opportunities and are equipped to make meaningful contributions to society in an ever-changing world.
